You can see from
the following
graph that our
problem here is
that people come
to Alachua
County to get an
education, but
then they leave.
They don't stay
and seek
employment
because there is
a lack of
opportunity here
for them, and
they don't stay
to build a
business because
the
anti-business
climate from our
leadership makes
that much more
difficult to do
than it should
be.
The above graph
shows us that
Alachua County
is significantly
below the state
average in just
about all age
ranges but the
college age
years.
Zero Growth
policies and
environmental
absolutism have
made Alachua
County an
unattractive
place for people
just out of
college and
looking for work
or for people
looking to
create their own
businesses. |
